Only a few years ago, ultra-multitasking artist and musician Cheryl L'Hirondelle slipped by our airtight on-line security to make over Artengine in a new image and artinjun.ca was born. With the launch of our new artengine.ca site we thought it only fair to leave the side door open for one of our favorite artists to update the face of artinjun.ca. For this edition of Electric Fields we bring you version 3.0 of this hybrid art/web portal project.

Also check out the kick off party for The Promoter Series at Babylon starting at 11 PM. Revolution Rock, Kapacity Entertainment and Disorganised bring you Thunderheist and DJ Drastick.

Open Daily from 12 PM until 7 PM
Artengine M70 Lab
2 Daly Avenue

Six musicians attempt to reproduce the sound emanating from a recording of Dan Flavin's work comprised of six fluorescents tubes. The staging of a futile and excessive listening. We find here a process central to Sophie Bélair Clément's work: the remake, or rather, the obsessive imitation. Minimal and effective, this sound installation is an acoustic concert where human expression and performance translate and transpose an electric song.

This work marks the inaugural presentation of an artist in Artengine's new M70 Lab. Artengine would like to thank Canadian Heritage, the City of Ottawa, the Canada Council for the Arts and Carbon Computing for their contribution to the space.
