Job Summary

**Location: Hybrid, On-site, National Gallery of Canada, 380, Sussex Drive, Ottawa and remote 2-3 days per week.

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Marketing and Sponsorship, the Digital Content Producer will lead the development and execution of content strategies across the National Gallery of Canada’s digital channels, produce corporate events and support public programming to increase engagement with a national audience.

The Digital Content Producer brings their technical expertise to work in collaboration with other departments to produce engaging, bilingual content and to support the production of marketing campaigns. This role ensures consistency and compliance with the institutional brand and voice while bringing art-based experiences and stories to the public. This position is a key player in supporting the NGC’s digital strategy and accessibility plan, producing content that offers memorable experiences to audiences who live inside and outside of the National Capital Region. The Digital Content Producer is the main point of contact for content creation at the NGC and with external vendors, including videographers, production companies, video editors and photographers, in order to ensure effective use and delivery of key messaging and branding.

Requirements

Education:
Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Communication, Journalism, Film, Digital Marketing/Media/Content plus advanced skills in pre-production, production, and post-production of video content or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Experience:
7-10 years’ experience as a videographer, video editor and photographer (portfolio required with application);
7-10 years’ experience managing video production projects, particularly for use on digital and social media channels;
7-10 years’ experience with video and image editing (ex. After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop);
5-7 years’ experience managing hybrid event and video production teams;
5-7 years’ working experience of Microsoft Office Suite;
5-7 years’ experience in producing digital content that incorporates best practices in video accessibility;
2-3 years’ experience in video performance analytics, including YouTube channel management and reporting;
2-3 years’ experience in Marketing or Communications with a focus on accessibility, equity, diversity and inclusion;
2-3 years’ experience in administrative, procurement, budgeting and copyright coordination are all assets;

Abilities/Skills:
Highly advanced skills in content development, event production, sound and video production, and videography.
Command of digital production principles, theory and practice with the skills to independently develop processes, methods and techniques for the NGC’s strategic objectives.
Highly advanced analysis, synthesis, and research skills to present ideas and information internally or externally.
Highly advanced organizational and time management skills to prioritize and coordinate simultaneous projects, often where procedures are not prescribed.
Highly advanced problem-solving skills and judgement to evaluate whether a product achieves its intended outcome.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
Advanced active listening skills to better understand internal and external needs and requests.
Highly advanced ability to create, develop, and maintain professional relationships with people from various fields, both inside and outside of the NGC: agencies, designers, colleagues, community organisations, corporate partners, etc.;
Highly advanced ability to work collaboratively with and provide leadership to content contributors and oversee the development of creative assets with both internal and external audiences.
Advanced ability to create digital assets in line with NGC brand.
Advanced ability to work effectively under pressure and manage schedules and budgets;
Advanced ability to adapt quickly and efficiently to change, providing leadership to production teams;
Advanced ability to take initiative and create structure and process, dealing effectively with all parties;
Advanced ability to multitask and show versatility in various fields; and
Highly advanced interpersonal skills, empathy, judgement, and professionalism with the ability to draw out authentic, engaging interviews and on-camera footage.
Ability to negotiate the requests and needs of different internal stakeholders while firmly advocating for the Gallery’s audiences;
Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian visual art, including our permanent collection, in order to develop innovative ways of sharing information and achieving public interaction with it.


Condition of Employment
Must meet the bilingual requirement to be invited to the interview process.
