Artawa is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this November! We are hosting a square foot group exhibition at Beyond the Pale (City Center) throughout November until the new year. Artists from the Ottawa / Gatineau regions are welcome to submit works to be displayed and sold.

The Theme: Resonance
To resonate is to evoke a shared feeling: a vibration that continues long after the initial strike. As Artawa celebrates a decade of collective creativity alongside Ottawa’s 200th anniversary, we are looking for works that explore the "echoes" between our personal artistic journeys and the enduring spirit of our city.

Whether it is the resonance of a memory, a connection to the local landscape, or the vibration of a community growing together, we want to see how your work ripples outward.

What part of my art resonates with others?
How does my work echo the history of this city?
What "vibration" do I want to leave behind for the next 10 years?

Artawa is a non-profit collective dedicated to providing free, accessible and safe space to meet monthly to create, network and socialize in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. We meet at the Ottawa Art Gallery studio, entrance at 10 Daly Ave. All events and meetings are free and do not require sign-up. Requirements for Resonance Show:

- Follow theme requirements and fill out registration form at https://artawa.ca/resonance-x-10-years-of-artawa/

- 12" x 12" gallery depth panel or canvas, MUST BE READY TO HANG or it will not be accepted

- All media that fits on the 12 x 12 support are welcome. Sculptural elements are limited to low-relief (no more than 1 inch off the surface)

- Artists receive 70% commission from sales of their work

- One entry per person, Ottawa / Gatineau residents only

- All ages and skill levels are welcome

- Opening party / vernissage on Thursday, November 5, 2026, 7pm, Beyond the Pale 250 City Center

Submission Dates & Drop-Off Locations:

- October 11 at the monthly Artawa meetup

- Oct 25 & Nov 1st at Beyond the Pale 250 City Centre
