Each session will have a focus on one particular C, but don’t worry, we promise to deliver all 3C’s in each InReach! This year at the Ottawa Art Gallery, 44.4 will cultivate Connections so you can find your supportive arts community by beginning Conversations that will invigorate your creative life, all while Creating small works reflective of our discussions.

The WHY: Connect with Ottawa creatives who want to:
help with regular art critiques so no one gets stuck
collaborate in art making
reduce awkwardness by standing together at a Vernissage
amuse with witty remarks when listening to the same artist talk
enlighten by sharing book recommendations
swap art supplies (we all have too many)
share knowledge of all things arty: materials, opportunities, and other resources

The HOW: DART! (Dating for ART aka finding friends to combat artist loneliness) Converse in rapid segments with fellow creative types and bond over:
art loves/ woes
art making in isolation/ community
art and parenting
art supplies
art experiences

The WHAT: Create "Calling Cards” inspired by artist Liana Finck to exchange with your new found art buddies!

All proceeds from the workshop will be donated to the 44.4 Artist/Mother Collective to purchase supplies and support upcoming community and exhibition projects.
