Instructor I â€" Specialty Arts position

The City of Ottawa’s Community Arts + Social Engagement team is currently recruiting for the Instructor I – Specialty Arts position for the upcoming summer Arts Animation and Young Artist Development Programs!
We’re looking for passionate and creative individuals who:

Have a strong background and knowledge in their specialty arts discipline
Understand the developmental and creative needs of children and youth
Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, organizational, and programming skills
Are committed to creating a fun, inclusive, and safe environment
Hold a valid Class G driver’s license

Position Details:
Salary: $23.75–$28.95 per hour
Duration: May 26 to August 22
Hours: 35 hours per week
Work Location: Routhier Community Centre, 172 Guigues Ave.

Arts Animation Program- Job Summary:
Arts Animation (AA) offers multidisciplinary arts workshops with children, youth, and people with disabilities, partnering with community organizations to deliver fun and creative experiences.
As an Instructor I, you will report to a full time Program Coordinator. Your responsibilities will include planning program content and instructing in a specific arts discipline as part of a team to ensure participants have a positive, safe, and engaging experience.

Young Artist Development Program- Job Summary:
An immersive one-week camp designed for youth artists looking to expand their creative skills. Through multidisciplinary arts workshops and behind-the-scenes site visits, participants will engage with industry professionals and explore diverse artistic approaches and mediums. The program will provide opportunities for creative learning, hands-on experiences and insights into the professional art world.

As an Instructor I, you will report to a full time Program Coordinator. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in developing program structure and schedule.
Assisting in coordinating logistics and communications with workshop instructors, industry professionals, and sites.
Assisting in developing camp content, such as workshop outlines or presentation materials.
Leading and delivering camp content.
