Info:
Born in Ottawa, Canada and raised across the country, André Michel has been capturing beauty in the unexpected over 30 years - with whatever camera he could get his hands on (35 mm, DSLR, iPhone). The photos he presents here are true to the colours and contours of his subject as captured by the camera. He has found surprisingly beautiful shapes, forms and colours in nature, in architecture, in fine art, in cities around the world, and in the everyday of his backyard, his cottage, his street and the parking lot of his grocery store. In his eye, the everyday becomes the unexpected, the familiar becomes the exotic and exotic becomes unexpectedly beautiful.
In his photographs, Andre Michel captures surprisingly beautiful shapes, forms and colours in the natural world, our cities, our architecture and in the everyday of our backyards. In these photos, the everyday becomes unexpected, the familiar becomes exotic and the exotic becomes unexpectedly beautiful.

This exhibit introduces photosculptures to the Ottawa/Carleton Place art scene. Andre Michel transforms his photographs into something new, unusual and beautiful. The photos jump off the gallery's walls and become visual windchimes. The light, lines, colours and forms of his photos take flight. Prints, photo sculptures and photo books are available for purchase.
