A Walk Through / en passant
An exhibition by the Ottawa West Art Association
We move through our days constantly passing places, people and moments. Sometimes we barely notice what’s around us. Other times, something catches our eye and invites us to stop, look again and see the world a little differently.
That idea is at the heart of A Walk Through / en passant. The French expression en passant means “in passing”; a fitting title for an exhibition in a place where people come and go every day. As you walk through CARDELREC, you’re invited to pause for a moment and discover the creativity, imagination and individual perspectives of local artists.
From intricate, colourful designs to quiet natural scenes and expressive landscapes, the works offer different ways of seeing and experiencing the world. Some may surprise you, some may bring a sense of calm, and others may spark a memory or simply make you smile.
You might arrive for a swim, a fitness class or a community activity, but along the way, you may discover a work of art that makes you stop in your tracks.
Sometimes, the most interesting encounters are the ones we never planned.
Take a walk through. See what catches your eye.
