Patti Lefebvre: Between the Noise
June 4 – July 14, 2026
Vernissage: June 4, 5:30 - 7:30 PM
The City of Ottawa Community Gallery Program presents Between the Noise, a solo exhibition by Ottawa-based artist Patti Lefebvre, at the Atrium Gallery.
This exhibition explores how meaning shifts and fractures in an age of constant visual and digital stimulation. Through layered abstraction incorporating collage, grids, drips, and fragments of text, Lefebvre investigates the tension between clarity and distortion in contemporary communication.
Each work acts as a visual palimpsest where information is built, obscured, and reinterpreted. Drawing on mass-media imagery, personal memory, and the language of printmaking, the works reflect how signals compete for attention within the modern information landscape.
“Between the Noise examines what happens to meaning when images and messages accumulate faster than we can process them,” says Lefebvre. “The works explore the moment where clarity dissolves, and new interpretations begin to emerge.”
Lefebvre maintains a studio practice at the Rectory Art House in Ottawa and is a graduate of the Ottawa School of Art. Her work spans printmaking, painting, and mixed media processes that explore communication, visual culture, and contemporary experience.
