Exhibition: Threads of Memory | Julie Gladstone and Olivia Mae Sinclair, Marney McDiarmid Sculptural Feature
Exhibition Dates: June 14 - 28
Vernissage: Saturday, June 14 from 3 - 5 pm, with artist talks by Julie Gladstone and Olivia Mae Sinclair. Additional programming featuring designs by local fashion designer Hailey Wyatt.

WALL SPACE GALLERY is proud to present Threads of Memory, a duo-exhibition of artworks by Julie Gladstone and Olivia Mae Sinclair. In this exhibition, Gladstone and Sinclair engage in intimate dialogues with trauma, memory, and transformation.

The juxtaposition of these artists reveals profound conversations about transformation, vulnerability, and the body’s relationship to time. While both artists create works that invite contemplation on the nature of healing—whether through meditation, ritual, or material alchemy—each explores these themes in radically different ways. Gladstone’s approach is ritualistic and expansive, with her works referencing historical narratives and the cycle of life and death, while Sinclair’s work is quieter, more intimate, and focused on personal resilience and the ongoing process of recovery.

Together, Gladstone and Sinclair create a space where healing is both a collective and personal journey, where materials are imbued with meaning, and where time itself becomes a medium for repair. Threads of Memory offers the viewer an invitation to reflect on their own relationship with trauma, healing, and the passage of time—how we mend, how we soften, and how we find meaning in the fragments left behind. This exhibition is a testament to the transformative power of art to repair, renew, and regenerate—both for the artist and the viewer alike.

Marney McDiarmid is a ceramic artist living in Katarokwi/Kingston making functional and sculptural work. Her work explores ecological themes and her connection with the land. “I aim for a sense of grace and whimsy in the work, wanting to create objects that feel personal and intimate, that enliven everyday life and communicate a sense of joy and story.” We’re thrilled to present new works by McDiarmid from June 14–28.

We are also excited to invite you to the feature of a mini runway by local designer Hailey Wyatt (Wyatt House Co) at our upcoming vernissage. Hailey’s designs are deeply influenced by her background in Microbiology, her commitment to sustainability, and her fascination with the body’s immunological systems. Hailey will showcase a series of zero-waste garments crafted from up-cycled materials. Some of these unique pieces will be available for purchase at the event on June 14th.

We look forward to welcoming you to the opening reception on Saturday, June 14 from 3 – 5 pm. Julie Gladstone and Olivia Mae Sinclair will be in attendance and giving artist talks at 3:30 pm.
