COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR


REPORTS TO: Executive Director
WEEKLY HOURS: 20 hours per week including occasional evenings and weekends as required
POSITION TYPE: Permanent, Part-time
START DATE: May 20, 2024


Gallery TPW is seeking a Community Outreach and Communications Coordinator who is dedicated to both managing a cohesive and responsive communications approach and expanding TPW’s audience and community engagement activity. Working with the Executive Director and Curator, the Community Outreach and Communications Coordinator will support Gallery TPW objectives in reaching new publics and stakeholders, both locally and internationally, while still fostering deeper relationships with our surrounding artistic communities and neighbours. Gallery TPW is an anti-oppressive and anti-racist work environment that encourages collaboration and embeds care into everyday work practices.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Outreach:

Develop partnerships and collaborations for programming and exhibitions with support from the Curator;

Expand Gallery TPW audiences and reach to different communities via targeted and/or durational outreach initiatives. Draw from themes and subjects presented in the gallery to seek out new visitors and help the Curator develop programming that reflects the priorities and needs of those visitors;

Imagine and coordinate new strategies for meaningful and impactful outreach initiatives for all facets of operations.


Relationships:

Maintain and draw statistics from Gallery TPW’s Visitor Impact Survey, and provide updates to the Curator and Executive Director;

Work with Executive Director to support durational relationships with Gallery TPW’s donorship;

Work with and build Gallery TPW’s volunteer community;

Develop casual neighbourhood-focused marketing strategies, like flyer or zine campaigns.


Communications:

Manage Gallery TPW’s main website and Silver Editions archive;

Work with the Curator and Executive Director to launch marketing campaigns for programming and major projects via Mail Chimp, social media, and press;

Monitor and document audience activity both in-person and online;

Maintain Gallery TPW’s brand identity in all facets of public presentation;

Develop strategies for better communications output and brand awareness;

Experiment with our social media platforms to activate programming and spotlight our artists, curators, and colleagues.


Administration and Events:

Work with the Executive Director and Curator in maintaining the gallery space;

Help develop organizational strategies for digital and material archives;

Be present at programming events and receptions;

Develop and host neighbourhood-focused events.



?COMPENSATION

Salary: $35,000 per annum plus vacation and professional development stipend
