Exhibition: Planting Roses in January

Exhibition: Planting Roses in January

Planting Roses in January
is an exhibition that will be held in Gallery 115 and the Visual Arts building, University of Ottawa, 100 Laurier Avenue East, from November
24th to December 7th. Admission is free.
Opening vernissage is on Friday, December 1st, 2023, between 5pm - 9pm.

The exhibition is inspired by Derek Jarman’s
Modern Nature and
his artist-garden Prospect Cottage in Dungeness, Kent. Planting Roses in January examines
our pursuit to preserve nature in uncertain times, gardening as an artistic community, and the garden as an intersectional space to explore diversity. Visit us and experience an exhibition that cultivates greenery (at times, against all odds) and presents
wild, and untamed paths for observers to follow.

The exhibition features artists:

Yekta Çetinkaya
Saanya Chopra
Sophie El-Assaad
Kai Holub
Sarah Hughes
Lou Koch
Marguerite Morin
Susan Robertson-Baranick
Kalli Vath
Annika Walsh
