Thirteen Strings' Vivaldi meets Piazzolla with Kerson Leong

Celebrate the close of our milestone season with an unforgettable evening of music, passion, and virtuosity. Ottawa’s own international sensation, Kerson Leong, returns to the Thirteen Strings stage for a powerful double feature: Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons and Piazzolla’s electrifying Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. This final concert takes place on Wednesday, May 13th at Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre. The one-performance start is 7:30 pm.

Widely hailed as one of the most gifted violinists of his generation, Leong will bring Vivaldi’s baroque brilliance to life with breathtaking artistry—then shift gears to capture the fiery spirit of Argentina in Piazzolla’s tango-infused tribute to nature’s changing moods.

Leong launched his global career after winning First Prize at the International Yehudi Menuhin Violin Competition in 2010 – one of the most prestigious violin competitions in the world. He has played Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall, collaborating with top orchestras across Europe, Asia and North America.

Leong performs on the “ex Bohrer, Baumgartner” instrument (dated 1741) by Guarneri del Gesù- one of the most celebrated violin makers in history – generously loaned to him from Canimex Inc. of Drummondville, Quebec.
