Displacement – When Your World Is Turned Upside Down
Exhibition by Boja Vasic
February 26 to April 12, 2026
Opening Reception: Thursday February 26, 6–8 PM
The Art-image Exhibition Centre presents Displacement – When Your World Is Turned Upside Down, a powerful exhibition by Toronto-based visual and media artist Boja Vasic.
Through 14 striking photographs, one immersive installation, and two documentary video works, Vasic explores the lived reality of people forced to flee their homes. By juxtaposing contemporary migration routes with images of cities destroyed by conflict, the artist creates a visual narrative that is both intimate and universal.
The exhibition dives into the emotional, political, and human dimensions of displacement — revealing how quickly an entire world can collapse and how individuals navigate the uncertainty that follows. Vasic’s grounded, documentary approach invites viewers into a space of reflection, honesty, and deep empathy.
