Up-cycling in Art -- Workshop

By artist Choleena DiTullio

Join Choleena for a fun and fascinating hands-on class that combines recycling and art. No previous experience is needed in this afternoon of playful instruction. You’ll stretch your creative muscles while discovering a new way to look at the things that we often discard or dismiss.

On display for inspiration will be paintings that she has created using up-cycled jewelry.

Choleena will give a very short presentation of the history of recycling in art, and a brief walk-through of the use of natural elements and recycling in her own practice. From there, her warm personality sets the stage for an entertaining, relaxed atmosphere as she walks you through the step-by-step process of creating your own up-cycled artwork! (On the poster is an example of an acrylic on canvas/up-cycled jewelry “Fish Stick” that you will make.) Each participant will go home with their very own creation, and are guaranteed to be hooked on recycling in art!
