Les Arts Florissants to perform in Ottawa

Music and Beyond is delighted to announce a very special concert with Les Arts Florissants, one of the most renowned baroque music ensembles in the world. Led by Co?musical Director Paul Agnew, he concert will take place on October 19th, 2025 at 7:30 pm at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre (corner of O’Connor and Lisgar streets).

A leading specialist in madrigals and sacred music, Paul Agnew leads the vocal ensemble Les Arts Florissants on an exploration of the sacred vocal repertoire across 17th- and 18th-century Baroque Europe called Gesualdo Passione. Starting with the Italians Claudio Monteverdi and Carlo Gesualdo, and moving on to William Byrd's England, the Spain of Fernando de las Infantas Spain and Orlando de Lassus' France.
The program also draws inspiration from musical traditions rooted in plainchant and cantus firmus, highlighting the historical links between the European sacred repertoire and the spiritual heritage of the Old Testament.

Tickets for Les Arts Florissants: Gesualdo Passione are available online at www.musicandbeyond.ca. Tickets are $50 for General Admission, $25 for Youth, and $75 for Reserved Section seating. Family tickets are offered at the low price of $100 for a family of four and $125 for a family of five. Tickets will also be available at the door.

As an added bonus, 2026 Music and Beyond pass holders are offered a very special promotion where if they purchase two tickets, they get a third ticket for free!
