Contemplative Photography Workshop Series
The first in a series of six contemplative photography events, on Saturdays starting September 20 from 10-11:30 am. The Experimental Farm is our first site.
Join us for a mindful exploration of the beauty available to us in every moment. You will be invited to take part in mindful exercises to notice your sensory and emotional experience without judgment. Activities to focus your attention while taking photos will be offered with time to practice and dive into your own individual experience.
Every two weeks until November 29 we will be encountering a new environment. Come explore a field, a forest, a lake, a river, a bog, or an architectural space, the choice is yours.
These workshops are for anyone who is curious to give it a try! No artistic skills required. Just bring your enthusiasm, willingness to explore the natural environment, and a camera (a cell phone is great). Don't forget to dress for the weather.

Facilitated by : Leap of Faith, Art as Therapy
https://leapoffaith-artastherapy.weebly.com/
Leap of Faith, Art as Therapy was founded by Mindy Alexander and Andrea Steinwand, based on the understanding that engaging in the creative process requires a leap of faith into the unknown, yielding many benefits for overall well being. They are able to support artistic creation with a variety of populations, and work hard to support individuals' strengths and capabilities, helping overcome one’s perceived limits. They find joy in seeing people begin to identify themselves as artists at any stage in life or never having touched art materials previously.
The workshop facilitators have their own personal contemplative and mindful practices, but they are not Buddhist and do not claim to be experts. They invite arts-based experimentation and curiosity in community, and they are always happy to direct interested participants to further resources.
