Galerie Old Chelsea is pleased to present the recent works by Lina Yachnin, a long-standing member of the Galerie. "Des gens et des lieux" is a show about memorable places. Some are far, some are close to home, but all are close to her heart.

This body of work crystallizes memories into images, be they from travels, hikes and other well-loved outdoor activities, all influence her work. Using a semi-abstract approach and integrating the elements of composition and colour, she captures the extraordinary. Whether with oil or watercolour, Yachnin slightly exaggerates her colours to draw attention to our beautiful surroundings. One can see that she enjoys both media as they allow for a very different expression of how she experiences our natural beauty.
Lina Yachnin has exhibited in the Ottawa for many years, has received several awards and is a Fellow of the Ottawa Watercolour Society. Her work can be found in both private and corporate collections in Canada, the U.S., China, and other countries.


Galerie Old Chelsea is a collective of regional artists located in the beautiful Gatineau Hills above the award-winning Les Fougères restaurant, situated at 783 route 105, Chelsea, Québec, J9B1P1.
