Cumberland Art and Garden Tour

11 am to 3 pm
Visit historic Cumberland for a tour of exquisite gardens created by local artists. The event features four diverse gardens, with artwork for sale at all locations. The self-guided tour is free and can be done in any order.
Backyard Blooms – 961 Kevin Crescent
Artist Laura Lyons creates distinctive bouquets from her home cutting garden. She also makes small stained-glass pieces and botanical themed works in clay.
Anne and Bob Hawley – 2530 Old Montreal Road
The couple’s delightful 1867 home features a welcoming front garden and a large yard filled with flowers, sculptures and curios. Guest artists Janis Fulton and Kerstin Peters will paint in the garden and display some of their work.
Maple Hall - 2552 Old Montreal Road
Four local artists have work for show and sale: journal designer and creator Susan Ashbrook, rug-hooker and watercolour painter Judy Conn, photographer Joan Kallio and cross-stitch artist Maggie Lalonde.
Danielle Beaulieu and Brian Phillips – 1268 Jules Leger Drive
The home of this artist couple features a large country garden with a stunning perennial plant collection enhanced by sculptures and architectural structures. Danielle is an award-winning watercolourist and Brian is a marquetry artist. Both artists will display work for sale.
Rebecca Dufton and David Millen – 1682 Beckett’s Creek Road
This artist couple created a large naturalistic garden with ponds on a wooded ravine, leading down to a waterfall. Rebecca is an artist, writer, gardener and avid dog lover. In addition to her artwork, she will have copies of her art-filled memoir, Gone to the Dogs, available for sale.
